Hazardous Area Classification (Zone Classification)

RB INSPECTION BODY Ltd.

Verification Report on the Extent and Zoning of Explosive Atmospheres (ATEX)

Targeted measures shall be introduced and applied in order to reduce the risk of explosion arising from flammable substances and the conditions of their use. Following the application of the principles of primary (substitution) and secondary (control) protective measures, the remaining potentially explosive areas shall be classified into so-called hazardous (explosive) zones based on the type of explosive atmosphere and the likelihood of its occurrence.

This inspection report documents the entirety of the technical and organisational measures introduced to reduce the risk of explosion and the effects of their application, and, within the framework of this inspection activity, also records the extent of the residual explosion risks identified on the basis of control calculations and/or standardised explosion protection requirements associated with the nature and specific characteristics of the identified sources of release.

Consequently, this inspection report serves to certify that the inspection activity prescribed in Section 2(3) of Joint Decree No. 3/2003 (III. 11.) of the Ministry of Employment and Labour and the Ministry of Health, Social and Family Affairs on the minimum occupational safety and health requirements for workplaces in potentially explosive atmospheres has been duly carried out. Accordingly, it documents the performance of the inspection procedure related to the combined fulfilment of the requirements set out in Sections 2(1) and 2(2) of the said Decree, with the exception of measures taken to mitigate the effects of an explosion.

The Inspection Report on the Extent and Classification of Explosive Atmospheres (area classification) also ensures compliance with the requirements set out in Sections 99(2) and (3) of Decree No. 54/2014 (XII. 5.) of the Ministry of Interior on the National Fire Protection Regulations.

In the course of conducting the inspection procedure and preparing the corresponding report, it is necessary to proceed in accordance with the explosion risk levels defined in Section 8(1) of Joint Decree No. 3/2003 (III. 11.) of the Ministry of Employment and Labour and the Ministry of Health, Social and Family Affairs on the minimum occupational safety requirements for workplaces in potentially explosive atmospheres.
