”Explosion safety technical manager” training
The purpose of the trainingis to ensure that participants who successfully complete the programme acquire all the competencies necessary to perform the tasks associated with their position. Accordingly, the activities of ”Explosion safety technical managers”shall be limited to carrying out design and/or selection tasks, as well as to the supervision and coordination of personnel responsible for selection and installation activities.
This training programme is available to all individuals who meet the conditions for enrolment and participation and who aim to acquire the new knowledge offered by the programme. The target group of the training includes persons responsible for the design of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, as well as those entrusted with the supervision and management of professionals involved in the selection, installation, and repair of such equipment, and with the development, verification, implementation, and maintenance of procedures related to explosion protection.
Pursuant to Section 11 of Act XCIII of 1993 on Occupational Safety, taking into account the provisions of Act XXVIII of 1995 on National Standardization, a national standard containing occupational safety requirements and published entirely in the Hungarian language shall be regarded as an occupational safety regulation. Accordingly, the knowledge, professional expertise, and competence of Explosion safety technical managers shall be ensured, assessed, and certified in compliance with the requirements set out in standards MSZ EN 60079-14 and MSZ EN 60079-17.
During the training participants will gain a detailed understanding of explosion safety principles and techniques. In addition, through the study and comprehension of relevant explosion safety standards, they will acquire: a thorough understanding of the general principles of protection types and markings, the opportunity to develop design knowledge corresponding to each protection concept, detailed knowledge of the techniques applied in the selection and installation of equipment, and a general understanding of inspection and maintenance requirements. This enables participants to acquire the competence necessary for performing practical tasks within areas affected by explosion protection, ensuring compliance with fundamental quality assurance expectations (including auditing) and with the requirements associated with related control documentation.
Conditions for enrolment and participation in the training:
- Educational background: Secondary school diploma / high school graduation.
- Professional background: Qualification in electrical engineering (high-voltage and/or low-voltage) and/or mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineering, and/or occupational safety, and/or fire protection.
- Field and duration of professional experience: Three (3) years of practical experience in the fields of electrical engineering (high-voltage and/or low-voltage), and/or mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineering, and/or occupational safety, and/or fire protection.
- Adult Training Agreement:
Duration of the practical training: 90 hours (delivered through a combination of in-person instruction and guided self-study), with an allowable absence of 10%. The class size is limited to a maximum number of participants. The number of in-person training days (including practical days) is 6 days.

Upon completion of the training, participants must demonstrate their knowledge and competence, which will be assessed through written and practical tasks. The possible grades in the evaluation exam are “Passed” and “Not Passed.” The performance requirements for achieving a “Passed” grade are:
- a minimum score of 71% on the written task,
- a minimum score of 71% on the practical task.
The performance requirement for a “Not Passed” grade: achieving 70% or less on the tasks. In the case of this grade, participants are given the opportunity to retake the failed task in the form of an oral examination.
Certificates and documentationobtainable upon completion of the training:
- Issuance of a document certifying participation in the training, either electronically or in paper format.;
- Upon meeting the examination requirements, the adult education provider issues a certificate in the adult training data reporting system to confirm completion of the training and makes it available to the participant, either electronically or in paper format, according to the participant’s preference.
The issuance of certificates and other documentary proof is conditional upon full settlement of all course and examination fees.
Applications are processed in the order in which they are received. Based on this, the start of the training will be confirmed after the application deadline has passed. The minimum number of participants required to commence the training is 10.

„Explosion-proof equipment installer” training
The purpose of the training is to ensure that participants acquire all the competencies necessary to perform the tasks associated with their position. Accordingly, an “explosion-proof equipment installer” is qualified to select, install, repair, refurbish, operate, and commission equipment at potentially explosive workplaces in accordance with their basic qualifications, as well as to verify (inspect) general compliance with explosion protection requirements. The training also aims to develop the competencies attainable during the programme and to prepare participants for obtaining the state-recognized professional qualification.
Pursuant to Decree No. 34/2021 (VII. 26.) of the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM) on the qualifications required for the pursuit of certain industrial and commercial activities, and on the amendment of certain ministerial decrees concerning technical regulation, the performance of the activity defined as “maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of explosion-proof equipment” requires the professional qualification of “explosion-proof equipment installer”.
Accordingly, the training programme provides professional preparation for the acquisition of the knowledge, expertise, and competence related to the relevant activities as specified in standards MSZ EN 60079-14, MSZ EN 60079-17, and MSZ EN 60079-19.
During the training, in addition to gaining a practical understanding of explosion safety principles and techniques, participants will acquire a general understanding of the principles of protection types and markings, as well as of the related inspection and maintenance requirements. Through gaining knowledge of the techniques applied in the selection and installation of equipment, the training ensures the acquisition of the knowledge and expertise necessary for carrying out the relevant activities in areas affected by explosion protection.
Conditions for enrolment and participation in the training:
- Educational background: Basic level of education / Primary school education
- Professional background: Qualification in electrical engineering (high-voltage and/or low-voltage) and/or mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineering, and/or occupational safety, and/or fire protection.
- Field and duration of professional experience: Three (3) years of practical experience in the fields of electrical engineering (high-voltage and/or low-voltage), and/or mechanical engineering, and/or chemical engineering, and/or occupational safety, and/or fire protection.
- Medical requirement: In accordance with Annex No. 15 of Decree No. 33/1998 (VI. 24.) of the Ministry of Welfare (NM).(1)
- Adult Training Agreement:
(1) The required medical certificate is accepted only if it has been issued by an occupational health service provider.
Duration of the training: : 120 hours ( comprising 60 hours of in-person instruction, 40 hoursof guided self-study, and 20 hoursof practical training), with an allowable absence of 20%. The performance requirement for a “Not Passed” grade: achieving 50% or less on the final tasks. In the case of this grade, participants are given the opportunity to retake the failed task.
Certificates and documentation obtainable upon completion of the training:
- issuance of a document certifying participation in the training, either electronically or in paper format;
- Upon meeting the examination requirements, the adult education provider issues a certificate in the adult training data reporting system to confirm completion of the training and makes it available to the participant, either electronically or in paper format, according to the participant’s preference. (2)Possession of the certificate allows registration for the qualification exam, which is organised and announced by an Independent Examination Centre (our cooperating partner: Várna National Technical Examination Complex). The planned date of the qualification exam is: 01.04.2026.

(3)The indicated unit price includes the cost of the training but does not include the fee for the medical fitness certificate issued by an occupational health service provider, nor the costs of the qualification exam.

„ Explosion-proof technical manager” advanced training
The purpose of the training is to ensure that participants acquire all the new theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for the continued performance of the tasks associated with their role. As a result, “explosion-proof technical managers” can continue to carry out their professional activities without interruption.
This training program (advanced training) is available to any individual who meets the conditions for enrolment and participation. Target group: Persons who design equipment intended for use in potentially explosive environments and/or supervise specialists responsible for selecting, installing, and repairing such equipment, as well as those entrusted with developing, monitoring, implementing, and maintaining procedures related to explosion protection, provided they already possess the verified competencies required for these activities.
Pursuant to Section 11 ofAct XCIII of 1993on Occupational Safety and Health, a national standard in Hungarian with occupational safety content, taking into account Act XXVIII of 1995 on National Standardization, qualifies as an occupational safety regulation. Accordingly, the knowledge, expertise, and competence of “Explosion-Proof Technical Managers” must be ensured, assessed, and certified in accordance with the requirements set out in MSZ EN 60079-14 and MSZ EN 60079-17, including, where applicable, the fulfilment of requirements for updating knowledge.
The advanced training program also provides the opportunity to refresh knowledge related to administrative, management, and coordination tasks as defined in MSZ EN 60079-19.
During the training, by applying practical experience related to explosion safety principles, techniques, and relevant standards, participants acquire practical knowledge and understanding of technical and organizational changes, principles, and techniques in the field of explosion protection. This ensures the renewal of competence necessary for carrying out activities in areas affected by explosion protection, while also enhancing knowledge of the fundamental requirements of quality assurance (including auditing) and the associated documentation and control requirements.
Conditions for enrolment and participation in the training:
- Professional background: qualification as an explosion-proof technical manager.
