Verification and documentation of the selection and installation requirements of electrical and non-electrical equipment, as well as equipment assemblies, used in hazardous areas
Electrical and non-electrical equipment, as well as equipment assemblies (equipment combinations), intended for use in hazardous areas possess special characteristics specifically designed to make them suitable for operation in such environments. In these areas, it is essential from a safety perspective that these special characteristics remain unchanged throughout the entire service life of the equipment. It is important to emphasize that the faultless operation of electrical and non-electrical equipment used in hazardous areas does not imply, and must not be assumed to imply, that the above-mentioned special characteristics are continuously and unchanged maintained. Consequently, the operator is obliged, within the scope of their responsibilities, to verify compliance with the technical requirements applicable to the relevant equipment through regular periodic inspections or continuous supervision by qualified personnel, and to carry out maintenance where necessary.
The inspection report verifying the selection and installation requirements of electrical and non-electrical equipment, as well as equipment assemblies (equipment combinations), used in hazardous areas serves to demonstrate compliance with the requirements and expectations set out in Section 99 (6), Section 177 (1) point (g), Sections 199 (2) and 200 (1), and, in certain specific cases, Section 245 (4) of Decree No.54/2014 (XII. 5.) of the Ministry of the Interior on the National Fire Protection Regulations.
