Expertise in the Field of Explosion Protection

RB Inspection Body Ltd. holds the necessary status to perform engineering activities and conducts its operations continuously and on a professional basis. Its scope of activity includes carrying out specialized inspections and audits related to potentially explosive workplaces, as well as providing clients with guidance on the interpretation of applicable laws and standards. We possess the professional competencies and practical experience required to comply with the legal and standard-based requirements associated with the execution of these activities.

HAZARDOUS AREA CLASSIFICATION

After applying the principles of primary (substitution) and secondary (control) protective measures, the remaining potentially explosive areas shall be classified as hazardous areas (zones) based on the type of explosive atmosphere and the probability of its occurrence.

INSPECTIONS

The applied technical solution is considered adequate if the design, installation, operation and maintenance are carried out in accordance with the relevant technical requirements, and if, following the inspection (verification), the applied technical principles are assessed as adequate by the inspector.

EXPLOSION PROTECTION DOCUMENTATION

The explosion protection documentation is a verification report of the combined effectiveness of the technical and organisational measures applied at potentially explosive workplaces, intended to demonstrate the fulfilment of the employer’s obligations as required by legislation.

Explosion Protection Documentation

WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? OBLIGATION?

The Hungarian legislation transposing Directive 1999/92/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on minimum requirements for improving the safety and health protection of workers potentially at risk from explosive atmospheres is the Joint Decree 3/2003 (III. 11.) of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Ministry of Health, which sets the minimum occupational safety requirements for workplaces in potentially explosive environments.

The employer’s fundamental obligation is to prevent the formation of explosive atmospheres through technical and organizational measures to ensure work is carried out safely and without endangering health. If prevention is not possible, the employer must avert an explosion or, if an explosion occurs, mitigate its effects. The explosion protection documentation serves as a verification report on the combined effect of the technical and organizational measures applied at explosive workplaces and, according to legislation, demonstrates that the employer has fulfilled its legal obligations.

Inspections

The applied technical solution is considered appropriate if the design, installation, operation, and maintenance are carried out in accordance with the relevant technical requirements, and if, following the inspection (verification), the reviewer (the person conducting the inspection) deems the applied technical principles satisfactory.
